This is a story of Ms. Kim who was born in Yangkangdo in late1970s. She was married and had an infant when the great famine hit the nation in mid 1990s.

Approximately, 240,000 to 3.5 million lives died from mass starvation or hunger related illness, and her husband was one of them.

She asked her mother to take care of her baby, so she can make some money to feed her family. However, during the phase, it was an impossible mission to accomplish. At that time, due to malnutrition, her younger brother was discharged from military. She has no other option, but to flee to China where she can make money, and at least feed herself.

She did not starve, but lived as a slave for next 12 years of her life in China.

Having to persevere all the assaults, and insult, her life was a hell itself. So many times, she thought about something unthinkable which is ending her life.

With every supporters blessing, and prayers, she was able to reach us for help. We are glad to be able to help her life’s journey easier from now on.
